Message's From Father Ron

It is natural for us to make plans. As human beings, we anticipate what is next. But can we become too rigid about our expectations of God’s plans for us? When we become set on one particular plan, especially when we think it is God’s plan, it can get us into a lot of trouble.

In the Gospel, Jesus begins to reveal a part of God’s plan to the disciples, but it does not match their expectations of what should happen.

Jesus tells the disciples who were having trouble moving beyond their own expectations of God’s plan, “If anyone wants to become my follower, let him deny himself.” To follow Jesus, we must let go of the idea that we know everything that should happen, and let grace lead our way. Let us find ways to remain open to plans bigger than our own

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

You cannot please both God and the world at the same time.  They are utterly opposed to each other in their thoughts, and their actions.

MINISTER OF PRAISE LETTER

                                JUNE 4, 2017

June is between the patriotic holidays of Memorial Day and Independence Day.  We proudly display our flags on June 14th.  I usually wear a red shirt to demonstrate my patriotism on those days.

Red is also the color of Jesus’ Sacred Heart.  The Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus is on June 23rd.  It is a day to recognize the deep love Jesus has for us.  It is a love so great that he willingly died for us.

Let us remember our love of Jesus and our love of country as we pray the prayer for this month.  Pray daily for those on our prayer list.

                                                                                          Deacon John

On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart Lord Jesus, Son of the Most High, may we find refuge in the humanity of your heart, for your thoughts are the thoughts of peace.  And so, in

the trials of this world, we will show forth the riches of your patience, until that day when we shall be with you forever and ever.  Amen.
